Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SafeSleep, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you create or sign in to a cradleOS account through the app, you additionally agree to these terms as they apply to that account. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of Service

SafeSleep helps childcare providers perform and document periodic safe sleep checks for napping children. The app includes timers, questionnaires, and record-keeping features to support safe sleep practices. SafeSleep is free to use on a single device with no account. An optional cradleOS account adds synchronization of your records across devices and access to them in the cradleOS web app.

Accounts

Creating a cradleOS account is optional and not required to use SafeSleep's core features. If you create an account, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must have the authority to enter and share, on behalf of your facility, the children's information you upload.

Not a Substitute for Professional Judgment

SafeSleep is a support tool only. It does not replace the training, judgment, or direct supervision required of childcare professionals. You are solely responsible for:

• The health and safety of children in your care
• Compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing childcare
• Verifying that safe sleep checks are performed correctly, regardless of what the app records
• Maintaining proper licensing and training as required by your jurisdiction

No Medical Advice

Nothing in SafeSleep is medical advice. If a child shows signs of distress, breathing difficulty, or any other health concern, seek immediate medical attention. Do not rely on the app to evaluate a child's health.

Data and Records

Data entered into SafeSleep is stored locally on your device. If you sign in to a cradleOS account, your records are also synchronized to and stored on cradleOS servers, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for maintaining any records and backups required by your licensing authority. SafeSleep does not guarantee data preservation: in on-device mode, if your device is lost, damaged, or the app is deleted, local data cannot be recovered; synchronized data remains available through your cradleOS account. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the sync service.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service, including by uploading data you are not authorized to share, attempting to access other facilities' data, or interfering with the operation or security of the service.

Disclaimer of Warranties

SafeSleep is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers of SafeSleep and cradleOS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the app or the sync service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If you continue using the app after those changes, you are agreeing to the revised terms.
